Creating fingerprints of barking dogs

Audio Library

Audio Library

The Audio library holds the tracks created by the recording application as well as fingerprints created and assigned to each dog. When you record a dog's barking in the audio recorder you will end up with a number of tracks (recordings) from which you need to select the best two or three to create fingerprints from. In order to create a fingerprint from a track you need to edit the track.

Audio Track Editor

Audio Track Editor

The editor allows you to select a defined section of the track and save it as a fingerprint for the chosen dog. All fingerprints are exactly the same size (duration).

Once you have assigned one or more fingerprints to a dog you are then ready to start monitoring the dog's barking activity. The monitor uses the fingerprints to compare sounds that it detects to determine if the sound matches the fingerprint. Having two or three fingerprints for a dog, which represent different barks the dog makes, allows for better matching. Please note that increasing the number of fingerprints will slow down the matching process. Having more than three fingerprints assigned to a dog is not recommended.
